India weather update: IMD issued rainfall alert for Himachal, Uttarakhand, Delhi and THESE states – Check complete forecast

Delhi is likely to experience a partly cloudy sky with very light rain or drizzle towards night.

The India Meteorological Department has issued rainfall forecasts for several places including Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat region. It also predicted dry weather over East Uttar Pradesh.

A look at the rainfall conditions across several states:-

Delhi

The national capital is likely to experience a partly cloudy sky with very light rain or drizzle towards night. The maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 35 and 21 degree Celsius respectively. On Saturday, the maximum and minimum temperature was 38.4 and 18.8 degrees Celsius respectively.

Jammu and Kashmir

The Regional Met Office, Srinagar has issued rainfall with thunderstorm and lightning at isolated places over the state. While, the areas over the higher reaches are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall or snowfall. This may cause traffic disruption over National Highway (NH-44), Mughal Road and Srinagar-Leh Highway.

Himachal Pradesh

The IMD has predicted a wet spell for the state of Himachal Pradesh. The rainfall activity with possibility of isolated spells of heavy rainfall in the districts of Chamba, Kullu, Kangra, Mandi, Shimla and Lahaul Spiti(Rain/Snow)is expected today. Light to moderate snowfall is likely to occur in the distt of Lahaul Spiti, Kinnaur and higher reaches of Chamba, Shimla, Kullu, Mandi , Kangra. The precipitation activity is likely to reduce with light to moderate scattered rainfall in the State from October 17th. The average Maximum and Minimum temperatures are likely to decrease by 2 to 3 degrees for the next 2 to 3 days.

Tamil Nadu and Puducherry

The Chennai-based Regional Met Office has predicted Light to moderate rain at a few places with thunderstorms and lightning at one or two places over the state, Puducherry and Karaikal area. Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Ghat areas of Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Theni, Dindigul and Tiruppur districts.
