A video of a group of men performing an impromptu Garba onboard a Mumbai local train has gone viral, with netizens swooning over the vibe. A video shot in a crowded Mumbai local features a group of passengers performing some uncoordinated steps inside a coach. While some danced their hearts out, others could be seen witnessing the performance and cheering for their fellow passengers. A loud garba tune could be heard in the background, and most of the performers were dressed in white. The group included people of all ages. An elderly man was seen dancing with a lot of zeal, while many just grooved to the music and had a good time.

Many felt that they missed out on this entertaining celebration, “Mujhe jalan ho rahi hain. Main iska hissa kyon nahi. Ruko main bhi aa raha hoon. Jai Mata di.” A user remarked, “100% it’s a Churchgate-Borivali local,” while another said, “Must be an off peak hour train. Else u won’t get to shake anything leave alone dance.”

While most online users were happy to see the video, some also objected to it. Many said, “I could just not watch the dance, but being caught with these uncles in a compartment and suffering that noise is torture…,” “Imagine the plight of someone in the coach traveling to attend the funeral of a loved one. Someone may be unwell. This is public transport.” A person claimed that this is “Nuisance at it’s best!”

This is not the first time the festive fervour has taken over the local trains in Mumbai.

Last year a video of a group of women playing Garba on a Mumbai local train went viral. The short clip was posted on X by Mumbai railway users.
