The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a warning urging consumers to discontinue the use of 26 different over-the-counter eye drop products due to the potential risk of eye infection and even blindness when used. The FDA has called for manufacturers to recall all batches of the affected products. This alert comes in response to findings by investigators who found that the manufacturing facility where the eye drops were being made did not meet sanitary standards.
