Indian Railways is likely to introduce another Vande Bharat Express train for Uttarakhand. The move comes after a meeting between Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in the national capital on Friday, during which the demand was presented.

With world class amenities, the introduction of ultra modern trains will herald a new era of comfortable travel experience, especially for the tourists travelling to the state. The train has been indigenously and is equipped with advanced safety features including the Kavach technology.

Routes of Uttarakhand’s new Vande Bharat Express:-

The national transporter is likely to introduce the blue and white colour train between Lucknow and Dehradun. This will be the second semi-high speed train for the state after the introduction of Dehradun-Anand Vihar Terminal Vande Bharat Express on May 25, 2023.

Distance and Travel Time of Dehradun-Lucknow-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express:-

The Dehradun-Lucknow-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express will cover a distance of 545 km in less than nine hours. It would be the fastest train on the route followed by Dehradun-Howrah Superfast Express and Dehradun-Gorakhpur Express. Both the trains cover the same distance in 10:15 hrs and 10:40 hrs respectively.

Coach Composition and Frequency of Dehradun-Lucknow-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express:-

The Dehradun-Lucknow-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express will be composed of eight coaches. It will have two types of seating arrangements i.e. AC Chair Car and AC Executive Chair Car. The train is expected to run six days a week.

Significance of Dehradun-Lucknow-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express:-

With the launch of Lucknow-Dehradun-Lucknow Vande Bharat, the rail connectivity among the state capitals will be improved. It will reduce the travelling time and provide comfort during the journey. The onboard facilities will make for a pleasant travel experience. It will also give a boost to tourism.
