How To Transfer WhatsApp Messages From Android To iOS

Google, Apple, and other manufacturers have developed various tools to make this transfer possible. Apple’s Move to iOS app helps transfer your contacts, message history, photos and videos, settings and more to your new iPhone. Until recently, moving WhatsApp messages from your Android phone to iOS wasn’t possible.

Now, you can move your WhatsApp data, including account information, profile image, chat history, chats, media, and settings from your Android phone to an iPhone. Your WhatsApp call history, display name, and peer-to-peer payment messages cannot be moved.

What you need to transfer WhatsApp history from Android to iOS

1. Make sure your Android runs on version 5 (lollipop) or above.

2. Ensure that the iPhone is running iOS version 15.5 or above.

3. On your Android, WhatsApp should have version 2.22.7.74 or above.

4. On your iPhone, WhatsApp version 2.22.7.74 or above is required.

5. Your Android phone must have the Move to iOS app.

6. You must use the same phone number on both devices.

7. This transfer will only work on a new or a newly reset iPhone.

8. Both Android and iOS devices need to be connected to the same WiFi network.

How to transfer WhatsApp data from Android to iOS

1. Make sure your Android phone has the Move to iOS app – available on the Google Play Store.

2. Once you’ve factory reset your iPhone (not required if it’s a new iPhone), head over to “Apps & Data” setup screen and choose “Move data from Android.”

3. On your Android phone, open the Move to iOS app and follow the instructions on your screen. On the iPhone, a code should be visible to you.

4. Enter the code on your Android phone and you’ll be taken to the Transfer Data screen.

5. Here, select WhatsApp and then tap “Start.” This way, your WhatsApp data is encrypted and migration is initiated. In addition, you’ll be signed out of your Android phone.

6. Once you set up your iPhone, download WhatsApp and sign in with the same phone number.
