Himachal Pradesh: Direct Air Service From Shimla To Amritsar To Commence From November End; Tickets To Be Priced Around At Rs 1900
Shimla news: Taking Cognizance of the Himachal government’s request, the central government started air services from Kullu to Amritsar last month. However, direct service from Shimla to Amritsar will begin from the second fortnight of November. For the initial days, the one-way ticket will amount to Rs 1900 on advance booking while on spot ticket fee will be relatively higher.

Under the second phase of UDAN scheme, the central government will procure 80 per cent of the project’s Viability Gap Funding (VGF) while the state government will cover the rest 20 per cent. The Alliance Air will provide the tickets at Rs 3,284 to passengers travelling from Amritsar to Kullu, while the prices will be set at Rs 2637 for Kullu to Amritsar flight.
According to Ravindranath Sharma, Additional Director Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, tourists and local people are greatly benefiting from the direct flights from Kullu to Amritsar and the passengers for the Shimla to Dharamshala weekly flight are increasing every week.
