Bangalore Metro expands Mobile QR Ticket facility for families and groups travelling together from today

This ticket can be accessed through various mobile applications such as Namma Metro, Paytm, WhatsApp and Yatra.

Great news for Bangalore Metro commuters! The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has taken a significant step to enhance the commuting experience. It has broadened the accessibility of its mobile QR tickets system. This expansion will now prove beneficial for families and groups travelling together on metro trains.

Earlier, the Mobile QR Tickets were limited to a single passenger for a journey. This ticket can be accessed through various mobile applications such as Namma Metro, Paytm, WhatsApp and Yatra.

Bangalore Metro Mobile QR Tickets for families and groups:-

The BMRCL is introducing mobile QR tickets to facilitate family and groups travelling together for a maximum of six passengers with effect from Thursday onwards. 

Bangalore Metro Mobile QR Tickets offers discount:- 

BMRCL’s Mobile QR Tickets provides a 5 percent discount on the token fare. The passenger using this facility will receive one single QR ticket encrypted with the number of passengers. To enter and exit, this QR ticket only needs to be scanned once for each individual in the group.

BMRCL promotes Mobile QR Tickets:- 

The BMRCL has encouraged passengers to use mobile QR tickets in advance at their convenience of the home or office. This aims to avoid long queues at the ticket counters for purchase of tokens. 

Earlier this year, the BMRCL launched discounted tickets for large and medium groups of travellers. For large groups (more than 1000 persons in the group), a discount of 20 percent over the token fare. While, for the Medium group (100 to 1000 persons in the group), a discount of 15 percent over the token fare. In both the cases, the commuters have to enter a station all together and exit from a common destination station all together.

As of now, the Bangalore Metro has two operational lines – Purple Line and Green Line. The 43.49-km-long Purple line has 37 stations while the 30.32-km-long Green Line has 29 stations.
