Indian Railways changes timetable of New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat Express – Check new schedule, stoppages and more

This blue and white colour train is being maintained and operated by Northern Railway (NR) zone.

The Indian Railways has changed the schedule of the new Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat Express. This is India’s second semi-high-speed train. For those unaware, the train was flagged off by Home Minister Amit Shah on October 3, 2019, and is currently being maintained and operated by the Northern Railway (NR) zone.

“It is notified for the information of the general public that due to operational reasons, railways have decided to change in days of run of train number 22439/22440 New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express,” Deepak Kumar, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Northern Railway said in a statement.

Revised timetable of New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express:- 

The train number 22439/22440 New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express will run six days in a week in both the directions except Wednesday.  This new timetable will be effective from March 21, 2024. Currently, the train runs on all days of the week except Tuesday. 

Distance and Travel Time of New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express:- 

The  New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express covers a distance of 655 km in 08:00 hrs.  This is the fastest train on the route followed by Jammu Rajdhani Express and Jammu Tawi Duronto Express. Both the trains cover the same distance in 08:20 hrs and 08:40 hrs respectively.

Coach Composition and Stoppages of New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express:- 

The New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express  is a train set of 16 Coaches consisting of Executive Class and Chair Car coaches. During its journey between the two cities, this ultra modern train stops at three railway stations. These are – Ambala Cant Junction, Ludhiana Junction, and Jammu Tawi station.

Significance and features of New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express:- 

The introduction of  New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express has enhanced tourism in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The travel time between two cities has been reduced by more than 3 hours. The train has been the outcome of a project undertaken by Indian Railways to fulfill the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Make-in-India.
