The two met in Dubai during the United Nations ‘Conference of the Parties’ on climate, known as COP28, where 46-year-old Italian leader — who seems well-versed with the social media trends — captioned the image ‘#Melodi’. The hashtag has been derived combining the surname of the two leaders.

The netizens couldn’t keep calm as soon as they saw the selfie, with memes flooding the internet. Meloni’s picture so far has been 10.7 million views and over 169k likes.

Some used the viral trending song ‘just looking like a WOW‘ by Yashraj Mukhate and mashed it up with different pictures of Meloni, others used popular dialogues from Bollywood movies to describe the selfie.
