Poco X6 series India launch teased: Poco X6 Pro incoming?

The Poco X5 Pro was launched in the country in February this year. The Poco X5 came in March.

The Poco X6 series India launch is imminent, suggests a new X (formerly Twitter) post by Poco India country head, Himanshu Tandon. The cryptic “happy Xmas” post is rife with signs pointing toward the potential launch of the Poco X5 Pro and Poco X5 successors launch in India, without directly naming the product(s) or giving away any timelines. The Poco X5 Pro was launched in the country in February this year. The Poco X5 came in March. And so, the Poco X6 series India launch could be anywhere from January to March 2024.

The Poco X6 Pro is largely expected to be a rebranded Redmi K70E in which case we can expect it to come with a 6.67-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,800 nits of peak brightness alongside the support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision standards, Mediatek’s Dimensity 8300-Ultra chip and a 5,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging. It could be among the first Poco phones to launch in India with Xiaomi’s freshly announced HyperOS software.

As for the vanilla Poco X5, buzz has it that it could be a rebranded Redmi Note 13 5G. Xiaomi is gearing to launch the Redmi Note 13 series in India on January 4 and going by recent turn of events, it won’t be surprising if Poco launches the Poco X5 soon after. It has launched the Poco C65 (a rebranded Redmi 13C 4G) and Poco M6 5G (a rebranded Redmi 13C 5G) in quick succession like that and so, it could do the same with the Poco X5 as well. But we will see.

Anyhow, the Poco X6 Pro has been spotted on multiple Indian certification websites from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) to NBTC, so that’s coming soon anyway. As for when exactly, with Poco India starting the hype-train, we can expect more details to follow soon enough. Watch this space for more updates.
