Mercedes-Benz to Launch 12 New Models in India, Here’s What it Plans for 2024

Out of the total, three models will remain in the battery-powered category, contributing to the EV segment.  

The luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz ended the year 2023 on a good note, all thanks to its satisfying sales numbers. Now, the brand has some serious goals for 2024, and is gearing up to introduce multiple products for Indian customers.

In a move to expand the lineup, and offer multiple options to the customers, the German carmakers will be launching 12 new models in India. Out of the total, three models will remain in the battery-powered category, contributing to the EV segment.

Big Investment for India in 2024

As per the details shared by the TOI, the brand plans to invest 200 crores in its Chakan plant near Pune, and will boost its production capacity. The company also aims to invest an overall Rs 3,000 crore in India this year.

All Linedup Workshops

Reports also say that Mercedes-Benz will be spreading its roots in 2024, making 20 new workshops, and will kickstart operations in 10 new cities. However, the company is yet to share further related details about the same.

Mercedes-Benze GLS Facelift

Meanwhile, the brand has already started implementing its strategy for 2024 as it has launched all new GLS in the country. The king-size SUV was in two variants, flaunting a price tag of Rs 1.32 crore (ex-showroom). While the top model GLS 450d 4Matic was priced at Rs 1.37 crore (ex-showroom).

The facelift avatar, which made its its official appearance in April last year, comes with subtle cosmetic changes from both inside and outside. The SUV is powered by 3.0-litre, in-line 6-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which generates a max power of 381 bhp and 500 Nm of torque.

It has been claimed by the company that the vehicle is capable of doing a 0-100 km/hr sprint in just over 6 seconds.
