Stock Market News! NSE, BSE To Hold Special Live Trading Session Next Weekend; Check Date, Time And Purpose

On January 20, 2024, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) are slated to conduct a special live trading session within the equity F&O segment. Both exchanges aim to seamlessly transition to their Disaster Recovery (DR) site during this unique trading event.

The scheduled activities for this exceptional trading day include two distinct live trading sessions. The initial session is set to kick off at 9:15 AM and conclude at 10:00 AM, while the subsequent session will commence at 11:30 AM and wrap up by 12:30 PM.

During the first live session on the primary site, the morning block deal window will open at 8:45 AM, shuttering at 9:00 AM. Following this, a pre-open session will run from 9:00 AM to 9:08 AM. The normal market operations are scheduled to unfold between 9:15 AM and 10:00 AM, followed by the Call Auction Illiquid session from 9:30 AM to 9:45 AM.

The second live trading session will shift to the DR site, featuring a pre-open session starting at 11:15 AM and concluding at 11:30 AM. Subsequently, the normal market will be active from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The Call Auction Illiquid session is scheduled from 11:45 AM to 12:00 noon. The closing session will commence at 12:40 PM, concluding at 12:50 PM, and the trading modification window will close at 1:00 PM. This unique arrangement aims to ensure a smooth transition and operational efficiency during the designated live trading sessions.

According to the NSE’s circular, ‘This is in reference to SEBI circular SEBI/HO/MRD/DMS1/CIR/P/2019/43 dated March 26,2019 regarding framework for Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Site (DRS) for stock Exchanges and depositories and Exchange Circular no. NSE/MSD/44692 dated June 18, 2020 regarding unannounced live trading sessions from Disaster Recovery (DR) Site and circular no. NSE/MSD/48662 dated June 18, 2021 regarding important guidelines in case of switchover of trading system to Disaster Recovery (DR) Site.’
