RBI UDGAM Portal: How To Register, And How To Check Unclaimed Deposit

New Delhi: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has introduced a centralised web portal named UDGAM (Unclaimed Deposits – Gateway to Access Information), enabling individuals to search for their unclaimed deposits across various banks.

UDGAM serves as a platform where depositors can access information regarding their unclaimed deposits. Individuals will have to register to access and check for unclaimed deposits on the platform. Users will have to head to the UDGAM portal and enter the relevant details, including name and contact details. It was developed through a collaboration involving Reserve Bank Information Technology Pvt Ltd (ReBIT), Indian Finacial Technology & Allied Services (IFTAS), and other participating institutions.

How To Register At UDGAM Portal:

Step 1: Visit the UDGAM website at https://udgam.rbi.org.in/unclaimed-deposits/#/register.

Step 2: Provide your phone number and enter your name.

Step 3: Create a password and fill in the Captcha code.

Step 4: Check the box and proceed to the next step. Enter the OTP to verify your registration.

What Are Unclaimed Deposits?

Unclaimed deposits, as defined by the RBI, refer to balances in savings or current accounts that have remained inactive for ten years, or term deposits that have not been claimed within ten years from their maturity date.

How To Check For Unclaimed Deposits On The UDGAM Portal:

Step 1: Go to the website https://udgam.rbi.org.in/unclaimed-deposits/#/login.

Step 2: Enter your phone number, password, and Captcha code. Then, input the received OTP.

Step 3: On the following page, the Name of the Account Holder is a mandatory field. Choose the relevant bank from the list.

Step 4: Provide at least one piece of information from the following search criteria: PAN, Voter ID, Driving License Number, Passport Number, or Date of Birth.

Step 5: Click on the search option to see if there are any unclaimed deposit accounts associated with the provided information.
