Galaxy Book 4 series India launch confirmed as Samsung starts pre-reservations for powerful new AI laptops

All the laptops are powered by Intel’s latest Core Ultra chips and so, one of their big ticket feature is obviously going to be artificial intelligence (AI).

Samsung Galaxy Book 4 series India launch has been confirmed. The line-up, which was announced globally late last year, and is a follow-up to the excellent Galaxy Book 3 range of laptops, is available for pre-reservations promising “early access and special offers” though Samsung is yet to announce formal pricing, or even the models and configurations that it plans to bring to the country. There will be four of those, going by the global portfolio— Galaxy Book 4 Ultra, Galaxy Book 4 Pro (14- and 16-inch), and Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360.

The big new update of course is the processor. All the laptops are powered by Intel’s latest Core Ultra chips and so, one of their big ticket feature is obviously going to be artificial intelligence (AI). Samsung in fact goes so far as to call the Galaxy Book 4 series its most intelligent laptop line yet. In addition, the top-of-the-line Galaxy Book 4 Ultra bags dedicated Nvidia graphics for more demanding computing. All the models are also rocking a touch-enabled display and improved cooling.

Here’s a low down on the specs:

Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Ultra

Samsung’s highest-end Galaxy Book 4 Ultra has a 16-inch, 16:10 touch AMOLED display with a 3K (2880×1800P) resolution. The panel supports variable refresh rate (48~120Hz) and can top 400nits. You get a choice of Intel’s new Core Ultra 9 or the Core Ultra 7 CPU paired with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4070 (8GB GDDR6) or RTX 4050 (6GB GDDR6) graphics cards, up to 64GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 2TB SSD. The laptop supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. Ports are as follows: Thunderbolt 4 (x2), USB Type-A, HDMI 2.1 (8K@60, 5K@120), micro-SD, and headphone/microphone combo. Powering the machine is a 76Wh​ battery and Samsung bundles a 140W fast USB Type-C charger in the box. Rounding off the package are “studio-quality” dual microphones, AKG quad speakers with Dolby Atmos playback, and a 1080p webcam.

Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Pro

The Galaxy Book 4 Pro comes in two sizes— 14- and 16-inch. Both have mostly the same specs: a 16:10 touch AMOLED display with a 3K (2880×1800P) resolution, variable refresh rate (48~120Hz) and 400nits peak brightness, choice of Intel’s Core Ultra 5 or the Core Ultra 7 CPU paired with integrated Arc graphics, up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB SSD, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 support, plus Thunderbolt 4 (x2), USB Type-A, HDMI 2.1 (8K@60, 5K@120), micro-SD, and headphone/microphone combo, studio-quality dual microphones, AKG quad speakers with Dolby Atmos playback, and a 1080p webcam. The difference is that the 14-inch Galaxy Book 4 Pro gets a slightly smaller 63Wh battery (versus 76Wh in the 16-inch) and a backlit keyboard without numeric key.

Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360

As you can probably tell from the naming, the 360 is a convertible option and so, it ships with an S-Pen stylus in the box while spec-wise, it is virtually identical to the 16-inch Galaxy Book 4 Pro.

Those interested can head over to “Samsung.com, Samsung exclusive stores, leading retail outlets and select online portals” to pre-reserve a unit in advance by paying a refundable token amount of Rs 1,999, Samsung said in a press release, adding that it would also pitch in with benefits worth Rs 5,000 for these customers.
