PAN Card Update: How To Change Photo And Signature In PAN Card

New Delhi: The PAN card, known as the Permanent Account Number, is a distinctive alphanumeric code issued by the Indian Tax Department, provided in the form of a laminated card. It’s considered a critical document for Indian citizens, serving not only tax-related purposes but also as a valid identity proof.

However, if your PAN card contains outdated information like an old photo or requires a signature update, it could create problems later on. Therefore, it’s advisable to correct any mistakes or inaccuracies in your PAN card promptly.

Your signature on the PAN card plays a crucial role in verifying your identity when you apply for various financial services like loans, investments, credit cards, and more. Therefore, it’s highly recommended to ensure that both your photo and signature on the card are up-to-date and accurate. This proactive step can help you avoid any potential hassles in the future, ensuring smooth transactions and processes for your financial needs.

Steps To Change Photo and Signature In PAN Card:

Step 1: Log in to the NSDL web portal.

Step 2: Choose “Changes or Correction in existing PAN data” from the “Application Type” option.

Step 3: Select “Individual” from the “Category” menu.

Step 4: Enter your applicant information and click on the “submit” option.

Step 5: Note down the generated token number and proceed with the PAN application.

Step 6: Choose how you want to perform KYC and provide all mandatory details such as Aadhaar or EID.

Step 7: Select “Photo Mismatch” or “Signature Mismatch” and input the Father’s or Mother’s details for PAN card signature change or photo update.

Step 8: Fill in your contact details, address, etc., in the “Address and Contact” section.

Step 9: Provide proof of identity, date of birth, and address. Submitting a copy of the Aadhaar Card can fulfil all three requirements, along with a copy of your PAN or PAN allotment letter.

Step 11: Tick the declaration box and click on the “submit” option to submit your details.

Step 12: Upload scanned copies of all document proofs for verification.

Step 13: Review the form for accuracy and click on “Submit” to finalize your details. You can click on “Edit” to make any necessary updates.

Step 14: Make a payment of Rs 101 (including GST) if you reside in India, or Rs 1011 (including GST) if you reside outside India.

Step 15: Save the application and print a copy.

Step 16: Send the printed application to NSDL’s address at Income Tax PAN Services Unit (Managed by NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Limited), 5th Floor Mantri Sterling, Plot No. 341, Survey No. 997/8, Model Colony, Near Deep Bungalow Chowk, Pune – 411016.
