AAP Govt Announces ‘Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana’ For Women Above 18 Years Of Age

The Delhi government on Monday announced a new scheme for women above the age of 18 — Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana.

While presenting the budget for the financial year 2024-25 in the state Assembly, Finance Minister Atishi said that the Aam Aadmi Party-led government will provide Rs 1,000 on a monthly basis to all the women above the age of 18.

“The Kejriwal government will give a monthly amount of Rs 1,000 to every woman aged 18 or above. Under the Mukyamnatri Mahila Samman Yojana, women will be given this benefit,” she said.

The budget is being presented with an outlay of Rs 76,000 crore, the finance minister said, adding that the government is trying to realise the dharm of Ram Rajya.

“All of us who are sitting here are inspired by Lord Ram and we have resolved to established Ram Rajya in Delhi,” Atishi said in the Assembly, adding that “When Kejriwal became the CM, he made ‘sikshya’ as the Raj Dharm.”

She highlighted the work done by the Arvind Kejriwal-led government to develop the national capital. Additionally, she proposed an allocation of Rs 16,396 crore for the education sector.

“This is a moment of pride that Kejriwal government is presenting its tenth budget. I am not just presenting the tenth budget but a picture of changing Delhi. Kejriwal came as a ray of hope. We are all inspired by Ram Rajya. We are working hard towards realizing the dream of Ram Rajya,” Atishi said in the assembly.

Earlier sources had said that the budget is likely to be based on the concept of ‘Ram Rajya’. Sources in the AAP government said on Sunday that the budget is likely to have something for every section of the society in the election year.

“This time, the budget is likely to be based on the concept of Ram Rajya. This will be the 10th budget of the AAP dispensation. The budget is likely to have provisions for every section of the society, in accordance with the principles of Ram Rajya, in the election year,” a source said.
