Pakistan: Imran Khan Could Face ‘False Flag’ Op In Rawalpindi Jail After Protest Call Against Election Fraud

Imran Khan faces attack after calling for peaceful protest against alleged election fraud. False flag suspected. Political turmoil ensues

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan is set to face the ire of the Pakistani establishment in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail after he rallied for a peaceful protest against the alleged rigging in the February 8 elections, according to exclusive information obtained by CNN-News18.

Khan had called for demonstrations following last month’s contentious polls, citing claims of vote theft. Sources close to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) hinted at the possibility of a “false flag” operation aimed at relocating him to a less secure facility under the guise of safety concerns.

Serving another blow to the embattled Imran faction, Pakistan’s election commission last week ruled that a party aligned with candidates backed by the former premier was not eligible for extra reserved seats in the legislature. The decision represented a further setback to Khan, who is in jail following a string of convictions, despite his candidates winning the most seats overall in the national election.

Even after a month has passed since the election, the turmoil continues to escalate as Khan’s supporters claim their electoral victory, pointing to disputed Form 45 documents allegedly reversed to undermine their legitimacy. Accusations were flying as power shifts were attributed to political heavyweights including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, and Punjab Chief Minister Mariyam Nawaz.

Days after Mariyam was crowned as the head of the country’s most populous region, the daughter of three-time PM Nawaz Sharif was disinvited from a speaking engagement at a Lahore college, underlining public discontent with the election results. With Khan’s allies vowing to disrupt government proceedings until their grievances are addressed, Pakistan braces for further political upheaval amidst mounting tensions.
