How To Check EPF Balance: Know Steps To Check EPF Balance Using UAN, UMANG App, SMS, And Missed Call

Methods to check EPF balance:  EPF is an important scheme for all working people. One can create a big corpus by investing in this scheme for retirement. Under the EPF scheme, an employee can withdraw a partial amount even while working. However, complete withdrawal is only made after retirement. An EPF account also offers additional benefits such as insurance coverage, and the EPS scheme also offers pension benefits. Financial protection to the employee and flow of funds in the event of untimely death or after retirement. If you are an EPF account holder and are confused about checking your account balance, then for your convenience, here are the methods related to checking your EPF balance.

You can check the EPF account balance online while sitting at home.

Check your EPF account balance through the online portal

To see the details of the Provident Fund i.e. PF account online, you will have to visit the EPFO Member Passbook portal.

First, go to the EPFO Member Passbook portal. Now, log in using your UAN number i.e. Universal Account Number and password. If you do not know your UAN number, then take the help of your salary slip. If you are visiting this portal for the first time, then you will have to activate the UAN number. Activate your UAN number by filling in the OTP received on the mobile number registered with the Aadhaar.

After logging in, if you have more than one PF account, choose the account whose balance you want to verify.

To check your EPF account’s transaction history and balance, click the View PF Passbook link. This will open a new window. View your details by logging in using your UAN number and password. To view your annual contributions, choose the financial year.

Steps to check EPF balance using the UMANG App

All government amenities, including ePay balance checks, are available on the UMANG app. It’s great if you already have it on your phone. Android users can download the app through the Play Store.

– Go to the EPFO section on the UMANG app

– Now, log in using your UAN number and password. You can see your EPF balance and other details there.

Offline methods to check EPF balance

During employment, every month the company contributes a part of your salary and an equal amount to the EPF account. In this situation, you can simply verify your balance offline.

– SMS: To verify your balance, your UAN number and mobile number must be connected. In the format, EPFOHO UAN ENG, type the message from the mobile number connected to the UAN number and send an SMS to 7738299899. While sending a message, type EPFOHO Space 12-digit UAN number Space Choose language and then send the SMS.

–  Missed Call: Make a missed call to 9966044425 from the number linked to your UAN number. After a few minutes, you will receive information about the linked number and your EPF balance. To have a seamless experience with these methods, it’s vital to make sure that your UAN is active and linked to your Aadhaar and PAN.
