Vir Das, known for his role in the successful 2011 black comedy ‘Delhi Belly’, is stepping into the director’s chair for the first time with this film, signaling a new chapter in his career after 17 years in acting. While he has previously worked on an unreleased web series as a director and showrunner, this upcoming movie will be his debut in directing a feature film. The casting for the female lead character is still a mystery, while there are rumors of Aamir Khan making a cameo appearance, although official confirmation is pending.

Happy Patel has become Imran’s chosen comeback endeavor following the shelving of his initially planned web series with Abbas Tyrewala. The web series was supposed to feature Imran in the role of an intelligence officer in a Disney+Hotstar espionage thriller centered on the South Asian counter-intelligence world. However, due to the merger between Reliance Industries and The Walt Disney Company, the project was postponed, much to Imran’s relief. He expressed his contentment with the cancellation, stating his preference not to portray characters who rely on guns to solve problems. Happy Patel seems to be the perfect project for Imran’s return, promising viewers a delightful and engaging experience akin to the charm of his earlier successful films that continue to resonate with audiences today.
