8th Pay Commission Latest Update: Here comes a big update for the Central government employees and pensioners, who are eagerly waiting for information on the formation of the 8th Central Pay Commission. They must note that the Central government has received a proposal regarding the formation of the 8th Pay Commission.

Regarding the setting up of the 8th Pay Commission formation, the Indian Railways Technical Supervisors’ Association (IRTSA) has written a letter to the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions under the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). The letter also highlighted the necessity to address all current anomalies while not giving room for “future anomalies”.

Why Should 8th Pay Commission be Formed?

In general, a central pay commission is set up at intervals of ten years just to examine, review, evolve and recommend changes regarding the principles that should govern the emoluments’ structure including pay, allowances, and other facilities/benefits/.

It should be noted that the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Pay commissions recommended constituting permanent machinery for the periodical review of the pay, allowances, and conditions of service of the Central Government employees.

8th Pay Commission What Are Key Demands From IRTSA

The letter from the IRTSA has put forth many key demands. The first demand is the constitution of a new central pay commission and the association also demands the government to rectify disparities and anomalies present in the salaries of various groups of employees.

Moreover, the association wants allocation of ample time to the Pay Commission in a bid to clear all existing anomalies concerning pay and allowances, working conditions, promotional avenues, and post classifications.

Moreover, the letter added that more time should be given to the pay commission to study all principles relating to pay & allowance, working conditions, promotional avenues, classification of posts.

The letter added that it is requested to constitute 8th Central Pay Commission immediately to enable it to have sufficient time to give comprehensive recommendations to clear all existing anomalies and without giving room for future anomalies.
