Char Dham Yatra 2024: How to register online, list of important documents

The online registration for one of the most popular Hindu pilgrimages in India has opened up. The Uttarakhand tourism department has announced that the online registration for the Char Dham Yatra, which includes the pilgrimage of four holy sites – Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri, has started on the tourism department’s portal. The doors of Gangotri, Yamunotri, and Kedarnath will open on May 10, 2024 on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, while the Badrinath shrine will open on May 12th. Every year, lakhs of devotees visit the holy pilgrimage which remains shut for around six months every year.

Gangotri Dham is set to open its doors at precisely 12:25 pm local time. Shri Badrinath Dham is scheduled to open on May 12 at 6 am. The doors for Shri Kedarnath Dham will open from May 10th onwards at 7 am.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR CHAR DHAM YATRA 2024:

1. Visit the official Char Dham Yatra registration website at registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in.

2. Click on the Register or Login

3. Sign up by entering your details, such as your phone number, name, and email address

4. Complete the registration process by entering the OTP sent to your mobile phone

5. Once you reach the new dashboard, provide the details of your tour, such as travel dates, number of tourists, tour name, and tour type.

6. After completing your registration, you will receive a unique registration number via SMS. You can then download the registration letter for your Char Dham Yatra.

Aside from the website, you can also register through the mobile application ‘Tourist Care Uttarakhand,’ which is available for Android and iOS. You can also register via WhatsApp by sending a message with the keyword ‘Yatra’ to the number +91 8394833833.

In other news, the Chamoli District Magistrate, Himanshu Khurana, recently visited the Badrinath Dham. During his visit, he instructed officials to complete works related to sewer line repair, improvement of internal routes, water, electricity, street lights, and vehicle parking before the start of the Yatra. Additionally, signage should be installed for passenger convenience.
