Delhi Traffic restrictions for EVM/VVPAT deposition on May 25-26 – Know routes you must completely AVOID

Key diversion points include the Roundabout Sawan Park near the Railway Underpass, Shankar Chowk near the Water Tank on Ch. Gulab Singh Marg, Chowki No. 2 in Gulabi Bagh, and the Red Light Bharat Nagar Ganda Nala.

Delhi Traffic Police on Friday announced restrictions for 12 hours, beginning 5 PM today to 5 AM on Sunday, due to deposition of EVM (Electronic Voting Machines) and VVPAT (Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail) machines at SKV, Bharat Nagar, Delhi Technological University and Shahbad Daulatpur.

Roads to avoid on May 25-26

Several roads and stretches should be avoided from the evening of May 25 to the early hours of May 26, the advisory read. Key diversion points include the Roundabout Sawan Park near the Railway Underpass, Shankar Chowk near the Water Tank on Ch. Gulab Singh Marg, Chowki No. 2 in Gulabi Bagh, and the Red Light Bharat Nagar Ganda Nala.

Delhi Traffic Police also warned that these roads must be avoided entirely. They are: Swami Narayan Marg, K.C. Goel Marg, the stretch from T-Point Ashok Vihar to Ambedkar Chowk on Ch. Devender Singh Tewatiya Marg, the route from Satyawati College to Prerna Chowk on Ch. Gulab Singh Marg, Dr. Bheem Rao Ambedkar Marg in JJ Colony Bharat Nagar, and the Ashok Vihar Phase I Marg.

From Shahbad Dairy to DU/Samaypur Badli Metro, commuters should turn right at St. Xavier’s red light and proceed via K.N. Katju Marg to reach their destinations. From Samaypur Badli Metro/Sectors 18 & 19, Rohini to Shahbad Dairy, commuters should turn left from Sector 16, Rohini, proceed to K.N. Katju Marg, and then make a U-turn on K.N. Katju Marg to reach their destinations, the advisory said.

Commuters are also requested to utilise public transport during the said time to avoid traffic congestion and ensure a smoother flow of vehicles. Travellers heading to ISBT, railway stations, or airports are asked to plan their journeys with ample time to spare.
