Sensex Today: The key benchmark indices were seen moving from strength-to-strength in late noon deals led by strong gains in capital goods, IT, and power stocks. The S&P BSE Sensex, which, touched a low of 65,672 in early trade, rallied to a high of 66,101, and was up over 200 points at the high point of the day. The Nifty50 was seen quoting at 19,674 – up 60-odd points.
Among sectors, the Nifty Realty, PSU Bank, and Media indices were the top gainers, rising up to 0.9 per cent. On the contrary, the Nifty Metal, and IT indices fell up to 0.3 per cent.
Tata Consumer Products: Shares of the Tata Group company fell over 2 per cent after it refuted reports that said it is in talks to acquire a majority 51 per cent stake in the snack and sweet brand Haldiram’s.

Shares of Cochin Shipyard (CSL) hit a new high of Rs 1,096.85 as they surged 15 per cent on the BSE in Thursday’s intra-day trade, in an otherwise weak market, on strong business outlook.
