Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik begins review of party organization

BHUBANESWAR: BJD president and chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday met MLAs and senior leaders of various constituencies to review the party’s organizational matter. The exercise, started recently, will continue for some days. On Tuesday, Naveen met leaders and MLAs of various assembly constituencies of Puri, Cuttack and Khurda districts. The chief minister is expected to meet MLAs of all districts in a phased manner.

Naveen enquired about organizational activities in various constituencies and asked the leaders to work towards strengthening the party organization and fulfil the promises made to the people. With Covid-19 pandemic having affected political activities, the party seems to be gearing up to set its house in order ahead of next year’s panchayat polls. Recently, the party has appointed observers and senior observers in various districts while it has also restructured its woman’s wing.

Amid speculation of a possible reshuffle of his council of ministers after the Rath Yatra festival, sources said some of the ministers to be dropped from the cabinet could be roped in for organization work.
