EPFO-Aadhaar Linking ALERT! Deadline to seed EPFO with Aadhaar nears – Check last date, how to do it online and more

The employer and employee deposit their PF contribution with the Employee Provident Fund Organisation every month.

The deadline to seed Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) with Aadhaar is coming close. EPFO had extended the deadline to seed Aadhaar with the Universal Account Number (UAN) for filing Electronic Challan-cum-Returns (ECR) till September 1, 2021.

The organisation has made it necessary to link the Universal Account Number (UAN) of the Provident Fund account with the Aadhaar card. For this, EPFO has made changes in section 142 of the Social Security Code 2020. And this has changed the ECR filing protocol.

Earlier, EPFO said in its tweet that after June 1, 2021, the employer will be able to file an ECR of the same employee whose UAN is linked to Aadhaar. For those whose Aadhaar is not updated, their ECR will be filled separately. He can later link the employee’s UAN with Aadhaar. But everyone has to do it as soon as possible.

If Aadhaar is not linked with your account, then EPFO can stop the contribution of the company coming to the employee’s account. It will be able to start only when Aadhaar is linked with your PF account.

Therefore, if you have not given the Aadhaar number in the PF account, then complete this work quickly. The EPFO informed that the employer can file separate ECR for non-Aadhaar seeded UAN after completion of the Aadhaar seeding process.
