Banking, financial and consumer durable stocks declined most as benchmarks Nifty50 and the Sensex ended with minor cuts of 0.13% and 0.15% respectively. Nifty midcap and small indices settled with around 0.50% gains. IT, metal, Pharma, healthcare, oil & gas sectors saw buying interest in falling market. The Bank Nifty too ended over 600 points lower as the banking index settled above 35,500.
On Friday morning, Asian market was trading mixed as Japanese Nikkei 225 gained 0.70%, Hang Seng Index at the Hong Kong Exchange declined 0.20% and Shanghai composite was trading flat with positive bias on in the early trade.
Earlier, U.S. stocks rose following choppy trading abroad on Thursday, and oil prices pulled back, as investors watched Western leaders present a unified front against Russia`s invasion of Ukraine, said Reuters.
Technology companies lifted U.S. stock indexes after a sharp fall in the previous session, with the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite up 269.24 points, or nearly 2%, to 14,191.84.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 349.44 points, or about 1%, to 34,707.94 and the S&P 500 gained 63.92 points, or 1.43%, to 4,520.16.
Meanwhile, ahead of the market opening, Zee Business research team has picked 20 stocks for profitable trade for investors. The stocks have been picked from cash, techno and F&O space with short-term, positional and long-term view.
