WhatsApp kept messages feature: Coming soon as BIG UPDATE! How will it work, benefits and more

WhatsApp kept messages feature: This feature is still under development but WhatsApp is now working on introducing the feature by presenting some information about an upgrade of disappearing messages in a future update of WhatsApp Desktop beta.

WhatsApp kept messages feature: The Meta-owned messaging application WhatsApp is reportedly working on a “kept messages” feature that will allow users to keep disappearing messages in chat even after its expiration. The feature is still under development but WhatsApp is working on introducing it soon

According to WABetaInfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp, once disappearing messages are “kept,” they can then be viewed by all conversation participants in a new “kept messages” section that will be created in chat info. “It is a disappearing message temporarily converted to a standard WhatsApp message, so it can be kept in the chat even after its expiration,” the report said.

Kept messages can be viewed within chat info in a new section called “Kept messages”, and all people in the conversation can open this section. When disappearing messages are turned on in a certain chat, disappearing messages cannot be starred but they can only be kept.

This feature is still under development but WhatsApp is now working on introducing the feature by presenting some information about an upgrade of disappearing messages in a future update of WhatsApp Desktop beta, the report further added.

Meanwhile, in a related news, WhatsApp on Tuesday launched a user-safety campaign – titled ‘Scam Se Bacho’  with an aim to create awareness and educate users on making safer online payments. It will come alive through a music video, the company said.

Payments on WhatsApp allows users to send and receive money from their contacts via Unified Payment Interface (UPI) as easily as sending a WhatsApp message.

“Being an industry leader among end-to-end encrypted messaging services in preventing abuse and promoting online security, WhatsApp is now focusing on communicating its core safety principles to payments on WhatsApp to help keep users safe while making digital payments,” WhatsApp India said in a statement.
