Bharat Gaurav Train: 5 Jyotirlingas – 700 seats | Schedule, journey details, fares, package, food and more

Eastern India’s first Bharat Gaurav Special tourist train will leave Kolkata on May 20, connecting five Hindu pilgrimages ‘Jyotirlingas’. IRCTC’s Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train has a mixed composition of Sleeper (Non AC), AC III tier and AC II tier coaches. These trains have a total capacity of around 600 – 700 seats and are fitted with infotainment systematic and CCTV cameras in common areas along with unarmed security in each coach. The trains have a well-equipped pantry car for preparing fresh meals onboard based on regional cuisines served at the respective passenger seats.

Eastern Railway General Manager Arun Arora told IANS that IRCTC is offering 700 seats in a new LHB rake for the pilgrimage tour that will span over 11 nights and 12 days.

Schedule

The pilgrimage train will commence its journey from Kolkata station and cover five Jyotirlingas – Omkareshwar, Mahakaleshwar, Somnath, Nageswar, and Trimbakeshwar. Tourists will be able to board and deboard at various stations covering the states of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh.

Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga is situated on the banks of Narmada river in Madhya Pradesh. Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga is located in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, and is considered one of the most powerful Jyotirlingas. Somnath Jyotirlinga is situated on the coast of Gujarat, Nageswar Jyotirlinga is located in Dwarka, Gujarat, and Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga is located in Nashik, Maharashtra.

Journey details

Arora further said that the tourist train will provide all facilities, including onboard medical assistance, to ensure the comfort and safety of all passengers. He expressed confidence that the tour would be very popular in West Bengal.

Fares & packages

The travel package has been classified into three categories – economy (sleeper class), standard (3AC), and comfort (2AC), offering 315, 297, and 44 seats respectively. IRCTC (Eastern zone) Group General Manager Zafar Azam reportedly said a 33 percent concession would be given in all categories.

The fares for each passenger have been set at Rs 20,060 for sleeper, Rs 31,800 for 3AC, and Rs 41,600 for 2AC. The package includes accommodation in hotels, vegetarian food, and road transportation apart from other facilities.
