Apple has released a new rapid security update to iPhones running on iOS 16. The latest software patch is said to be a rapid security response, which is issued when the company finds a major bug or security loophole that requires a quick fix to prevent vulnerability.

For an iPhone running on iOS 16.4.1, the iOS 16.4.1 (a) rapid security update is just around 90 MB, and hence, it does not introduce any new features. Instead, it fixes a major security issue that makes iPhones more secure. Even if you are on an earlier version of iOS, it is recommended to install this patch to further improve the security of your iPhone.
Some users on social media platforms are reporting that their device is failing to install the rapid security update and displaying an “Unable to Verify Security Response” error message. This can be fixed by restarting the iPhone and redownloading the software update. Make sure that your device is connected to the internet even after downloading the update. However, we were able to successfully install this update on an iPhone 12 Pro without any issues.
The latest software update is available for all iPhones that are eligible for the iOS 16 update. Hence, the update is also available for the iPhone 8, iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and the iPhone 14 series of smartphones.
