Nita Ambani led Reliance Foundation scholarships open, provides grant up to Rs 2 lakh; know selection process, last date

The Reliance Foundation is currently accepting applications for 5,000 undergraduate scholarships for the academic year 2023-2024. According to a formal announcement, these applications are open to all first-year normal undergraduate students, regardless of their selected field of study, and will be available till October 15, 2023.

The merit-cum-merit scholarship application provides a grant of up to Rs 2 lakh and an opportunity to be part of an enabling support system and a vibrant alumni network.

Nita Ambani, founder chairperson of Reliance Foundation unveils her commitment towards the programme which actively encourages applications from female students and individuals with disabilities.

Selection process for the scholarship:

Candidates will be judged during the selection process based on a variety of criteria, such as their performance on an aptitude exam, their grades in class 12, their household income, and other specified qualifying requirements. To find deserving individuals who are pursuing undergraduate college education, this scholarship program uses merit-plus-means criteria. 

According to the statement, its main goal is to make it possible for students to complete their education without having to worry about money.

“India has the world’s largest youth population, and our young people have immense potential to take the nation to new heights. At Reliance Foundation, we work to provide opportunity and access to quality education. We are strongly committed to helping young people fulfil their aspirations and enable them to contribute to India’s growth,” said Jagannatha Kumar, CEO, of Reliance Foundation. 

Nearly one lakh students registered for the Reliance Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships 2022–2023; of the 5,000 scholars chosen on the basis of eligibility and performance on the aptitude exam, 51% were women, and 97 scholars were people with disabilities.
