BMW’s electric iX1 SUV is set to light up India on September 28, offering style, power, and eco-conscious driving in a competitive price range.

BMW is set to electrify the Indian automotive landscape with the much-anticipated launch of the iX1 electric SUV on September 28, 2023.

This electric SUV marks a significant addition to BMW’s electric lineup in India, joining the ranks of the i4 sedan, iX SUV, and the i7 luxury sedan. Just eight months after the introduction of the new X1, BMW is taking another leap forward.

The BMW iX1, a rendition of the third-generation X1, retains the signature BMW aesthetic while introducing electrifying enhancements. This all-electric SUV boasts a front fascia embellished with BMW’s iconic twin-kidney design, complete with sleek LED headlamps that leave a lasting impression. Complementing these changes are striking new alloy wheels and a thoughtfully reimagined rear end.

The cabin of the iX1 boasts of features like a 10.7-inch touchscreen and BMW’s sleek curved digital information display system. Other feature highlights include a panoramic sunroof and front massage seats.

Under the hood, the BMW iX1 xDrive30 packs a potent 66.5 kWh lithium-ion battery capable of rapid DC charging at up to 130 kW. With two motors at its disposal, this SUV delivers a combined output of 313 hp and a robust 494 Nm of torque, allowing it to race from 0 to 100 km/h in a brisk 5.6 seconds. The iX1 boasts an impressive claimed range of 440 km and a top speed of 180 km/h.

The price tag for the iX1 is expected to fall in the range of Rs. 60-65 lakh, possibly making it the most accessible electric BMW in India. In this price bracket, it’s set to lock horns with the Volvo XC40 Recharge, priced at Rs. 56.9 lakh.
