Weather Update: IMD predicts rainfall in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and THESE states for next few days – check complete forecast here

According to IMD’s weather forecast, light to moderate rainfall with the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Mahe, Puducherry, and Karaikal during the next five days.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather warning, forecasting heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu and Kerala on October 30. In addition to this, the IMD has also predicted light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning over several southern regions in the coming days.

According to IMD’s weather forecast, light to moderate rainfall with the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Mahe, Puducherry, and Karaikal during the next five days.

“Light to moderate rainfall at many places with isolated thunderstorms, lightning very likely over Kerala & Mahe and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal during the next 5 days and over South Interior Karnataka on the 30th & 31st of October. Isolated heavy rainfall is also very likely over Tamil Nadu and Kerala during 29th-30th October and reduction thereafter,” IMD said in its latest bulletin on Sunday.

“Scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall likely over extreme south peninsular India and Islands,” IMD added.

Additionally, the Meteorological Department anticipates the possibility of light rain and snow in the higher altitudes of Himachal Pradesh starting on October 31. Nevertheless, the overall weather conditions in the state are expected to be pleasant throughout the week.

Delhi-NCR grapple with ‘Very Poor to Poor’ air quality

Delhi, Noida, and Gurugram are currently grappling with air quality categorized as ‘Very Poor’ to ‘Poor,’ as indicated by the Air Quality Index (AQI) ranging from 221 to 341. This serves as a warning for residents in the National Capital Region (NCR). Despite implementing a 15-point winter action plan aimed at curbing the escalating pollution, the battle against worsening air quality persists. 

According to the Air Quality and Weather Bulletin for Delhi, the air quality is expected to remain in the ‘Very Poor’ category from October 29 to 31, 2023. Meanwhile, Noida recorded an AQI of 317 (Very Poor) and Gurugram 221 (Poor).
