‘After installing the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.23.1.73 update, which is available on the TestFlight app, we discovered that WhatsApp is rolling out this feature to the iOS app as well,” WABetaInfo reported.

The new pinned message feature is available in the context message menu and it allows users to pin the selected message to the top of their conversation, simplifying the process of highlighting important or frequently referenced messages.

According to the report, the feature is also available in individual chats. In addition, the instant messaging app is testing this option by extending availability to users who install the latest versions from the App Store. However, it might take some time before they roll out to a broader audience.

The pinned message option is different than the feature offered by other instant messaging apps since users also have precise control over how long a message remains prominently displayed in their chats. The users can select from three distinct durations: 24 hours, 7 days, and 30 days.

The report revealed that it is possible to dismiss a pinned message at any time, even before the chosen duration elapses. As per WABetaInfo, this feature is available to some beta testers who install the latest versions of WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app. It will be rolling out to more users over the coming days.

WhatsApp is also working on an alternate profile feature as a new tool to mask your information. The new alternate profile feature will be available within the privacy screen regarding profile photo and it allows users to configure a different photo and name that will be visible to those contacts who cannot see their primary profile information.
