Darbhanga-Anand Vihar Amrit Bharat Express Begins Operations To Connect Bihar, UP; Check Route, Timings

The Amrit Bharat Express connecting Lucknow to Darbhanga started operations on January 1. The first-ever operational Amrit Bharat train between UP and Bihar, which is equipped with the latest technologies, will operate between Uttar Pradesh’s capital to North Bihar’s Darbhanga via Ayodhya and Anand Vihar Terminal. 

Train no. 15557 Amrit Bharat Express will depart from Darbhanga every Monday and Thursday at 3 pm. This train will reach Ayodhya at 2:30 pm, Lucknow at 5:05 am on Tuesday, via Kanpur at 7:05 am and reach Delhi’s Anand Vihar Terminal at 12:25 pm.

Similarly, train number 15558 Amrit Bharat Express will depart from Anand Vihar Terminal at 3:10 pm every Tuesday and Friday from January 2 and reach Kanpur Darbhanga at 11:50 pm, taking 20 hours and 40 minutes between the two places. 

The train will stop at several stations in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh including Kamtaul, Janakpur Road, Sitamarhi, Bairagnia, Raxaul, Narkatiaganj, Bagaha, Kaptanganj, Gorakhpur, Basti, Mankapur, Ayodhya, Lucknow, Kanpur, Etawah, Tundla and Aligarh railway stations.

The Amrit Bharat Trains have the latest technologies to ensure the passengers do not feel any jerk at any point of the journey. These newly flagged-off trains offer a comfortable journey across various destinations running at a maximum speed of 130 kmph. This technology joins two coaches in a way that negates the jerk effect when the train starts and stops.

“The Amrit Bharat trains have a special type of coupler called semi-permanent coupler which negates jerk effect. It is safer in terms of operation of the train as well,” Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw recently said while inspecting the train at the New Delhi railway station.
