Ticket Booking To Food Order: Indian Railways To Develop Mobile App For Passengers; Check Services Available

The Indian Railways is all set to develop a super mobile app that will provide passengers with all kinds of facilities in one single platform.

Work is in progress to create a super app that will allow passengers to book tickets, check train status, order food, access other services at the station and on the train, file complaints, and access other features for their convenience.

There are distinct mobile applications from various Railways departments, such as the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).

Passengers encounter difficulties as a result of having to download numerous apps to their smartphones. The process of resolving this issue has begun. The new app will fully cater to user convenience.

According to railway officials, the Center for Railway Information System (CRIS) has been tasked with this responsibility. The estimated cost of developing and operating this app for three years is approximately Rs 90 crore.

The most widely used railway mobile app is IRCTC Rail Connect. Over 10 billion downloads have been made of it. This allows you to book and cancel tickets that you have reserved. This app is used for about 81per cent of all online ticket purchases.

It should be mentioned that passengers must currently download a separate UTS mobile app from the Railways in order to book unreserved seats. Additionally, it has over a billion users. Season passes and platform tickets can be reserved by travelers using this app.
