Kurukshetra: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, during the state-level ‘Vivekananda Youth Mahasammelan,’ announced on Friday that employment opportunities would be extended to 60,000 youngsters from families with an annual income of less than Rs 1.80 lakh in the coming months. As part of the ‘Mission 60,000,’ the Chief Minister outlined several initiatives, including the engagement of 7,500 ‘Van Mitra’ individuals, the recruitment of 15,000 contractual employees through Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam and the engagement of 7,500 ‘e-Sewa Mitra’ for Common Services Centre, news agency PTI reported.

This initiative aims to provide employment and opportunities for skill development, contributing to the economic empowerment of the youth in the state of Haryana. The announcement was made on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary during the ‘Vivekananda Youth Mahasammelan.’
In addition, 15,000 youths with a diploma or a degree in civil engineering will be trained so that they can become contractors, he added.
“The government will extend a loan of Rs 3 lakhs to these individuals for one year without requiring any collateral. Trained youths under this programme will be exempt from providing a guarantee for work up to Rs 25 lakh. The goal is to boost their annual income, enabling them to rise above the Below Poverty Line (BPL) threshold,” Khattar said.
Paying tributes to Swami Vivekananda, the chief minister said his life is an inspiration to all. “In 1893, he presented India’s perspective at the World’s Parliament of Religions in Chicago, and our nation received great honour and recognition for his profound representation,” Khattar said.

Earlier, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the Saraswati Vatika development project of the irrigation and water resources department, laying the foundation stone. This project, estimated to cost Rs 3.68 crore, will be executed in three phases.
Sanjay Bhatia, the Karnal MP and Sandeep Singh, the Printing and Stationery Minister, were also in attendance during the occasion.
