New Delhi: Multiple farmer associations had called for a ‘Farmers Delhi Chalo Protest’ for February 13, 2024, i.e. today, and despite a meeting with the Centre, no concrete decision was reached and the protest is expected to take place today. The farmers will travel from Haryana to Delhi and ahead of this protest, restrictions have been imposed both on the borders and within the states of Haryana and Delhi including sealing of borders, imposition of Section 144 and traffic advisories. Delhi Airport Issues Travel Advisory
As mentioned earlier, Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport has issued a travel advisory for all its passengers, ahead of the Farmers Protest ‘Chalo Delhi’. The travel advisory details have been shared in a post on the social media platform ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter). The travel advisory reads, “Please be advised that due to the anticipated farmers’ protest at different Delhi borders starting on 13.02.2024, there will be traffic diversions in effect. For commercial vehicles, traffic restrictions and diversions will be implemented starting from 12.02.2024. We recommend planning your trip accordingly and staying informed about potential delays and alternative routes.”

Traffic diversions and restrictions for commercial vehicles from 12.02.2024. Trip must be planned with potential delays and alternative routes in mind.
To ensure timely arrival, the airport authorities have encouraged the travelers to make use of the Magenta Line for Terminal 1 (T1).
In case a passenger has to reach Terminal 3 (T3) of the Delhi Airport, Airport Metro can be a good travel option.
Delhi Police Traffic Advisory For Farmers Protest
Speaking about the general advisory for Delhi, the state government has imposed Section 144 for the entire city and this will stay in place for the next 30 days. The Delhi Traffic Advisory, there are diversions for the inter-state buses using the NH-44 to go to Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal etc.
Heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) are advised to use Exit Number-2 on NH-44 intersection to go to Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, etc. “The HGVs intending to go towards Bahadurgarh, Rohtak, etc. are suggested to take Outer Ring Road from Mukarba Chowk to Madhuban Chowk to Bhagwan Mahavir Road to Rithala to Pansali Chowk to Helipad to UER-II to Kanjhawala Road-Karala T-Point-Kanjhawala Chowk to Jaunti Village to Jaunti Border/Nizampur Border and enter in Haryana village Bamnoli and may go further go via Nahra-Nahari road to Bahadurgarh road.”
Diversions have also been announced for cars and light goods vehicles travelling to Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, etc. The Delhi Traffic Advisory stated, “The cars and LGVs intending to go towards Bahadurgarh, Rohtak, etc.
