How To Check PF Balance Through UMANG App

The EPF interest rate is announced annually by the EPFO (Employees Provident Fund Organisation), a statutory body under the Employees’ Provident Fund Act, of 1956. The UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) mobile application is a government app providing access to various government public schemes, including the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).

To check their EPF details through the app, users must ensure their UAN is activated and their mobile number is registered. They can view the deposits made towards their EPF from different organisations they have worked with. Universal Account Number (UAN) is unique to each employee enrolled under the EPF scheme. It is allotted by the Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), and each employee should have only one UAN throughout their working life, regardless of the companies they may change.

What Is UMANG?

EPFO provides various services through the centralised mobile app of the government, called Umang. The app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store/App Store. Members can check their PF balance and download their passbook on this app.

Here Is How To Check your PF Balance Through UMANG App:

Step 1: Download the application from the Play Store/App Store.

Step 2: Open the UMANG app on your smartphone and select EPFO.

Step 3: Then click on Employee Centric Services.

Step 4: Now click on View Passbook to check your EPF balance.

Step 5: Enter your UAN and click on Get OTP to send the OTP to the mobile number registered with UAN.

Step 6: Enter the OTP and click on login.

Step 7: Select the member ID of the company for which you want to check the EPF balance.

Step 8: Your passbook will be displayed on the screen along with your EPF balance.

How To Check EPF Balance Via SMS:

Type EPFOHO followed by your UAN number and the first three letters of your preferred language (e.g., ENG for English).

Then Send the message to 7738299899.

Ensure that you send the SMS from the same mobile number registered with your UAN. Using a different number will result in the EPFO not disclosing your PF balance.

How To Check EPF Balance Via Missed Call:

From your registered mobile number, give a missed call to 9966044425. The call will disconnect after two rings. The EPFO will then send your PF balance details via text message.
