What are Amrit Bharat trains?

The Amrit Bharat Express trains are high-speed passenger trains featuring the Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) push-pull design, comprising non-air-conditioned coaches. Complementing the advanced coupler technology, the train features engines positioned at both the front and rear. The front engine pulls the train, while the rear engine aids in pushing it forward.

Earlier, the Vaishnaw had explained the advantages of this push-pull setup. He has said this technique is known for better acceleration and deceleration which in turn optimises travel time, particularly in critical areas like bridges and curves.

What makes Amrit Bharat Express trains jerk-free?

The semi-coupler technology plays a crucial role in minimising the jerking effect typically experienced during train starts and stops. Also, the fact that these new-age trains have shifted from the traditional approach of coupling coaches helps the cause. Amrit Bharat trains adopt a distinctive semi-permanent coupler, effectively eliminating discomfort. This not only improves the overall passenger experience but also enhances the safety of train operations.

Amrit Bharat trains features

Amrit Bharat Express trains are designed with various features to elevate the travel experience. These include horizontal sliding windows, dust-sealed wider gangways, an aerosol-based fire suppression system in toilets and electrical cubicles, an emergency disaster management light, floor guide fluorescent strips, and a bench-type design for LWS coaches.

Adding an extra layer of convenience, the train incorporates a segregation of reserved and unreserved coaches with sliding doors, ensuring an enhanced and secure travel experience for all passengers.
