The talisman batter attained the goal after just 377 matches, becoming the third-fastest batter to do so.

Kohli was the quickest to 11,000 T20 runs, having scaled the mark in only 353 matches. The 35-year-old has eight T20 hundreds, the most among all Indians, with a career-best knock of 122 not out.

Kohli’s dominance is undeniable in the short format as he stands alone as the leading run-getter in T20Is and T20 World Cups.

A case could be made that Virat could have reached the 12,000 run milestone a lot earlier. But, Kohli made a comeback to T20Is only back in January of this year after a hiatus of 14 months having last played in the T20 format in the semi-final of the 2022 T20 World Cup.

Virat’s veracity in the IPL is more than well documented. The 35-year-old stands alone as the IPL’s highest run-getter of all time, having notched up a whopping 7263 runs at an average of 37.24. And RCB will be banking on the veteran to keep on adding to his unassailable tally as they embark on yet another journey to claim the coveted IPL trophy for the first time.
