7th Pay Commission: DA Hike Announced For Govt Employees Of These States In March 2024, Check Salary Hike Details

7th Pay Commission Latest News Today: March is a month of rejuvenation and celebration for the government employees as their dearness allowance has been increased to a great extent ahead of Holi. Apart from the Central government employees, the salary of the state government employees has also been increased. Starting from Karnataka, Odisha and Assam to Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh – several states have announced DA hike for their employees in March 2024. Check full list here.

Karnataka Hike DA by 3.5%

Ahead of Holi, the Karnataka government announced a 3.75% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for its government employees and pensioners. The state government in a statement said that the new hike will be effective from 1 January 2024.  With this latest hike, the total increment in DA has gone up from 38.75% to 42.5% of their basic salary.

Moreover, the Karnataka government said in the statement that it has also increased the DA to 50% from the existing 46% for staff under UGC, AICTE, ICAR, and JNPC pay scales. Notably, the move would cost the state exchequer Rs 1,793 crore annually.

Kerala Announces 2% DA hike

The Kerala government this time hiked DA by 2% for government employees, teachers, and All India Service officers along with the Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners. The state government said the new hike will come into effect from April 1.  With this latest DA revision, the total hike will increase from 7 to 9 per cent.

The state government said Class 4 employees with a basic salary of Rs 23,000 will get an increase of Rs 460 and the increase has a retrospective effect from January 1, 2021.

Madhya Pradesh Hikes DA by 4%

The Madhya Pradesh government in Mrach 2024 hiked dearness allowance by 4 per cent for its employees and said with the latest hike, the DA to 46 per cent from 42 per cent. The latest hike in allowance will be effective from March 1, 2024, and will be paid in the month of April, 2024. The State Finance Department has issued the order.

Assam Hikes DA by 4%

The Assam government also increased DA by 4% for the state government employees and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the latest hike in DA will be effective from January 1. The state government said that the arrears of the first three months will be given to the state employees in May, June and July respectively.

Gujarat Hikes DA by 4%

Just like other states, the Gujarat government hiked DA by four per cent hike for state employees and pensioners. Apart from this, the state government also increased its contribution to the National Pension Scheme (NPS) for employees. During a press conference, the state government also to calculate LTC cash conversion for 10 cumulated leaves on the basis of the revised pay scale of the 7th Pay Commission.

With this latest DA hike, the dearness allowance of state government employees will now increase to 46 per cent from 42 per cent.

Odisha Hikes DA by 4%

The Odisha government led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced a 4 per cent increase in dearness allowance and dearness relief for state government employees and pensioners. With this hike, the total DA and DR has been increased to 50 per cent from 46 per cent.

The state government said the new hike will be effective from January 1, 2024 and the move will benefit 4.5 lakh state government employees and 3.5 lakh pensioners.

Chhattisgarh Hikes DA by 4%

The Chhattisgarh government in March 2024 announced a 4% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for government officials in the state and the move has just come ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
