WhatsApp Will Soon Suggest You To Start Chatting With Contacts You Have Never Messaged

WhatsApp has added new media features but now it wants to help you reconnect with some old contacts you have never messaged.

WhatsApp helps you connect with people who you want to but soon the messaging app will have an option where you can see the contacts who you have never messaged. The new feature called suggested contacts has been spotted in the latest WhatsApp beta version where you can see the people who are on the list but you never chat with them on the app.

WhatsApp feels that you might be missing out connecting with some of your existing contacts and wants to help you with a nudge to message them. The details of the upcoming feature has been shared by WABetaInfo this week, and if you have access to the Android beta version 2.24.9.5 update, chances are you might see the new folder available on the main chat screen.

This is an interesting addition for WhatsApp and we are not sure what prompted the messaging app to consider this feature for its users. The Meta-owned platform has been looking at new ways to keep people hooked and additional usage time with features like these could only work in its favour.

Having said that, some people might feel that WhatsApp doesn’t really need to nudge them into messaging one of their contacts. It does feel like an invasive move with this feature but we are hoping some people are able to benefit from its addition in the near future.

WhatsApp is also testing the option to make international UPI payments for its users in India. The messaging app already supports in-app UPI payments by linking to your bank account and authorise via a UPI PIN. But giving this option for free UPI international payments could really help the platform to garner more users in the coming months.
