Galaxy S24 FE

Although it’s been a few months since the launch of the Galaxy S23 FE, it looks like Samsung might launch the next generation Galaxy S24 FE a bit earlier than usual.

According to a recent report by The Elec, the South Korean tech giant has already started making display panels for the upcoming device that includes a new display driver IC from Anapass. The new screen might also help considerably reduce the size of the bezels and the thickness of the phone.

Taking a look at the current generation Galaxy FE phone, it looks like the Galaxy S24 FE will have an FHD+ screen and possibly a 120Hz LTPO panel. On the hardware front, the Galaxy S24 FE is said to feature either the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or the Exynos 2400 chipset. This means that the upcoming Galaxy FE phone may be closer to the normal Galaxy S24 series and not feel like an outdated mid-range device.

While the exact launch date is still not known, speculation has it that Samsung has already started manufacturing the displays for the phone, hinting that the phone may hit the market sometime in the second half of the year.

Galaxy Watch FE

In the last few weeks, there has been chatter about Samsung working on a new FE series smartwatch. According to Android Headlines, the South Korean tech giant will be launching a new version of the Galaxy Watch 4 as the Galaxy Watch FE.

The report suggests the Samsung Galaxy Watch FE will be available globally as well as in South Korea and the United States. The upcoming smartwatch has model numbers SM-R866F, SM-R866U, and SM-R866N. For reference, the Galaxy Watch 4 has the model number SM-R86F, hinting that the tech giant will unveil a new version of the Galaxy Watch 4.

The Galaxy Watch FE will look, feel, and function similarly to the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. This means the upcoming smartwatch will have a physical rotating bezel and run on WearOS with OneUI on top.

Galaxy Fold FE

Samsung is also reportedly working on a much cheaper foldable phone that is expected to launch later this year alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6 series. According to a report by the South Korean publication SisaJournal, the cheaper Fold variant may be priced somewhere around $800 (approx. Rs 66,500), meaning the upcoming foldable phone might cost less than half of what the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is priced at.

To bring down the price of the upcoming foldable device, it looks like the phone will be powered by a mid-range chipset and also pack a cheaper display and slightly smaller battery. While the phone maker seems to be compromising on several fronts, the report suggests that the more affordable Galaxy Z Fold will have the same camera setup as the normal Galaxy Z Fold 6.
