Railway Board Issues Order To Provide Annual Increment To Workers Retiring On June 30; Full Details

Railway News: As per the order issued by the Railway Board, the railway employees retiring on June 30 will be eligible for an increment. Apart from this, employees who retired three years ago can also claim it and they will be entitled to get arrears. Along with the increment, employees will also get pension, gratuity, house rent allowance, dearness allowance and other allowances on the basis of increased basic. According to the order issued by Sandeep Pal, Executive Director (Pay Commission), Railway Board, from now on, retired employees will also get the benefit of increment on July 1.

Railways gives the benefit of three per cent annual increment to its employees on January 1 and July 1, depending on the date of appointment.

Till now, employees retiring on June 30 were not able to get the benefit of annual increment on July 1, even though they had worked for it the entire year.

In such a situation, on the basis of the order issued by the court, the Board has issued orders to the General Managers of all the zones and has ordered to give the benefit of increment to all the employees retiring on June 30.

After getting the increment, pension, gratuity, house rent allowance, dearness allowance and other allowances will also be available on the basis of increased basic.

Under the order issued by the Railway Board, those employees who have retired three years before the issue of the order will also get the benefit of the said facility. After getting the increment under the order, the pension and gratuity of such employees will be calculated on the basis of increased basic and they will also get the arrears of the last three years.
