PSEB 10th, 8th Result LIVE Updates: Marksheets Out, Check 12th Exam Status

PSEB 10th, 8th Result LIVE Updates:Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has announced the board exam results for over 6.28 lakh students including 3,21,163 students from class 10 and 3,07,272 students from class 8. While the result was declared on Monday, students can check their marks today at the official website, pseb.ac.in.

Despite classes being held digitally for the entire academic year, it is the students from rural areas who have performed better. In the 10th results, 99.94 per cent of students have cleared the exam while for the urban area the pass percentage is 99.90 per cent. In class 8, the pass percentage is the same at 99.98 per cent for both urban and rural areas. The overall pass percentage for class 8 is 99.88 per cent and for class 10 the pass percentage is 99.93 per cent.

This year, the result is being announced on the basis of internal assessment because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Schools had to assess students based on their year-long performance. Despite schools assessing their own students, the pass percentage is not 100%. This implies every student has not been promoted to the next class. Subject-wise and total marks will be mentioned in the marksheets.

PSEB 10th Result: Rural Shools Perform Better in Punjab Board

In the Punjab Board School Education (PSEB), despite classes being held digitally, it is the students from rural areas who have performed better. In the 10th results, 99.94% of students have cleared the exam while for the urban area the pass percentage is 99.90%. In class 8, the pass percentage is the same at 99.98% for both urban and rural areas.

A total 3,07,272 students had registered ro class 8 regular mode of which 306894 candidates have passed with an overall pass percentage of 99.88 per cent. Among girls the pass percentage is 99.9 per cent and for boys it is 99.86 per cent.

A total of 3,21,384 students had registered for class 10 of which 3,21,163 have passed. The pass percentage is 99.93 per cent. Among girls, the pass percentage is 99.94 per cent while 99.92 per cent of boys have passed

What About Punjab Board 12th Result?

Unlike classes 8 and 10, Punjab Board has decided to go ahead with the class 12 exams. As of now the exams have been postponed and will be held at a more conducive time when the COVID-19 wave is relaxed. However, there is strong demand among students, parents, and academicians to not hold physical exams. This demand is the same regardless of boards or states.

Who are PSEB, Punjab Board 10th toppers?

Just like last year, this year too PSEB has not issued the list of toppers. Considering that no exams were held, the board will not be issuing ranks or topper lists. Last year, students got grades instead of marks and no toppers were announced.

Due to the pandemic, students and parents are advised not to travel to the Mohali-based headquarter and raise their concerns online. PSEB 8th, 10th Result 2021: How Many Marks need to pass?

Students need to score at least 33% marks to be deemed as pass. Those who have not got passing marks can appeal to the board authorities. Usually, Punjab Board holds compartment exams for students. Going by the situation, however, the same seems unlikely. PSEB, however, will hold a written exam for students who are not satisfied with the marks given to them. This not only includes those who have failed and anyone can apply for these exams.

This year, because of the pandemic, PSEB could not hold its board exams for classes 5, 8 nor 10. Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had said that the state keeps the “health of its students” at utmost priority and hand decided against holding of the board exams. The result was calculated based on year-long assessment of students by their respective schools.

After downloading the marksheet, students need to verify their names, subjects, school name, roll number among other details. Students need to check the spelling of their names carefully. In case of any error in the marksheet, students need to get in touch with the Punjab Board authorities at the earliest.

PSEB Punjab Board 10th, 8th Result 2021: When and Where to Download Marksheet

Students can download their marks memo or mark sheets from the official website, pseb.ac.in. As per the official statement by the Punjab Board, a link containing marksheets of over six lakh students will be available at the official website from 8 am onwards. Students will need to log-in using their credentials. They can print it out to keep a hard copy with them.

While the result was declared on May 17, it will be available for students to check their marks from today – May 18 onwards. The result will be uploaded at the website from 8 am onwards. Students need to check their marks at pseb.ac.in

PSEB 10th, 8th Result LIVE Updates: In case a student is not satisfied with the marks obtained by them, they can apply to appear for a written exam at a later stage. Class 8 can write to [email protected] and class 10 students can write to matricsecrecy.pseb.punjab.gov.in.

To pass class 8, and class 10 exams, students need to obtain at least 33 per cent marks in each subject as well as aggregate barring Punjabi and Punjab history and culture subjects in which passing marks are 25.

Punjab has become the second state to release the result of state board exams. Bihar had become the first this year as it has been for the past two years as well. Punjab Board conducts Board exams for classes 5, 8, 10, and 12. While the result of classes 8 and 10 has been declared, that of class 5 is not out yet. Further, the board is yet to decide regarding the class 12 boards.
