EPFO Alert: Change your EPF/EPS nomination online by doing THIS – Details

Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) announced through its official Twitter handle that the members can now file the nomination for EPF/EPS account online. 

“File e-Nomination today online through UAN, to ensure #SocialSecurity for your family/nominee”, EPFO tweeted along with an infographic explaining the advantages of the same.

UAN is an important document that allows members to keep a check on their various Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) accounts. 

The nomination has to be filed for the purpose of online payment of PF, Pension and insurance (EDLI) up to Rs 7 lakhs to eligible family members, the EPFO twitter said.

While the nominee update is mandatory after marriage, the user can do it anytime he/she wishes, the infographic tweeted by EPFO further read.

The EPFO also noted “if an EPF member wants to change an existing EPF/EPS nomination, then he/she can file a new nomination.” 

Members should note that the new nomination will override previous nomination. To file online nomination, members can visit www.epfindia.gov.in 

The EPFO was formed by Employees Provident Fund Ordinance on November 15, 1951. It was later replaced by the Employees Provident Fund Act, 1952. 

It administers a contributory provident fund, pension scheme, and insurance scheme for the workforce engaged in the organized sector.
