Know all about UAE’s Green Visa and how it will benefit you

The United Arab Emirates has been making efforts to lure entrepreneurs, qualified professions, and high net individuals by continuously reforming its entry and visa issuance, and ensure that they stay and invest in the country.

There is a five-year tourist visa granting multiple entries into the UAE, Golden Visas, and an average tourist visa, etc., that are already in place to facilitate travel of people.
However, recently, it announced the launch of a Green Visa with five-year validity, which is a resident visa that allows visa holders to sponsor themselves for five years. If reports are to go by, the visa would be effective from September 5, 2022.

What was the requirement of launching the new visa?

Reportedly, 85% of the total population of UAE comprises expatriates. This results in foreign workers seeking new visas and entry rules to live in the UAE without any hassle, and enjoy its standard of living. As such, the launch of the Green Visa would make it much easier for expats to live and work in the country.

What does this visa has on offer?

Reports suggest that the Green Visa would allow expatriates to self-sponsor themselves for five years. Apart from this, they would also be allowed to sponsor their spouses, children, and first-degree relatives. However, one needs to keep in mind that the tenure and validity of the family’s visa would be in sync with the visa of the primary holder.

Who all are eligible to get the Green Visa?

As per the latest reports, foreigners that fall in these three categories – skilled professionals, partners or investors, and self-employed individuals and freelancers, would be eligible to get a Green Visa.
