New Delhi: Bhartiya Rashtra Samiti (BRS) leader and Telangana Chief Minister, KCR’s daughter K Kavitha has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning in connection with the now-scrapped Delhi liquor policy scam. Ahead of the questioning on March 11, Kavitha’s brother and BRS leader KTR landed in the national capital late Friday evening.

Liquorgate

Notably, earlier today, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia was sent to the ED custody by a Delhi court till March 17 in connection with the Delhi liquor policy scam case. K Kavitha’s alleged involvement in the liquor gate had been hitting the headlines ever since Manish Sisodia’s arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) last month.

‘Kavitha might be arrested by ED’

Meanwhile, Telangana CM KCR, during the national executive meeting earlier today, said that his daughter BRS MLC K Kavitha may be arrested by the ED in the Delhi liquor scam case on Saturday.

As per reports, KCR observed in the meeting that the BJP-led Government in the Centre might try to subdue BRS by arresting Kavitha.

“Telangana has become a guiding force for the country and attracted other states. BJP is indulging in many conspiracies to hide their party’s incompetence. The BJP is harassing BRS public representatives,” KCR said during the meeting.

‘Political witch hunt’

“Already ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and BRS leaders are harassed by CBI, IT and ED raids with false allegations. We should thwart away the BJP’s attempts to the harassment to any extent. Let’s face it,” he added.

Previously, Kavitha also called the ED summons a ‘political witch hunt’. “Dirty politics is being played in the name of investigation. I have reiterated several times that I have nothing to do with the liquor case or the investigation,” she said.
