Receiving Govt Pension? Here’s How You Can Submit Digital Life Certificate Without Visiting Bank

Are you government pensioner? Well, then by November 30, 2023, you must submit this document without fail. In case you fail to submit this, your monthly pension might be withheld by the government. It is the Annual Life Certificate or Jeevan Pramaan Patra, which individuals receiving government pension must submit.

Well, now individuals do not have to visit the disbursing agency’s office to provide a physical life certificate. Pensioners can access Digital Life Certificate, a digital service with biometric assistance to submit their life certificates. Pensioners can now generate DLC using the Aadhaar-enabled biometric authentication approach.

Pensioners can use their Aadhaar number and other pension information related to their pension bank account to biometrically authenticate their life certificates in real time by visiting a nearby CSC centre, Bank Branch, or any Government office whose details are provided under ‘Locate Centre’ on jeevanpramaan.gov.in, according to a report by The Economic Times.

Transaction id will be sent to the pensioner’s mobile number after the digital life certificate has been successfully submitted. Using this transaction id, pensioners can download a computer-generated life certificate for their records at jeevanpramaan.gov.in

However, here it is to be noted that the digital life certificate given by the pensioner can only be confirmed when the pensioners’ accounts are seeded with their Aadhaar Number because be entire process is essentially Aadhaar based.

Apart from this pensioners can also electronically submit their life certificate through the Jeevan Pramaan portal. For this, a pensioner needs to download the Jeevan Pramaan app from the portal. Also, pensioner must submit their fingerprints using a fingerprint reader to submit their life certificate.

Apart from this, the services of doorstep banking can also be availed at 12 public sector banks and offers ‘Doorstep Banking’ to its customers in 100 major cities around the country. To deliver the service, a DSB representative will reach the pensioner’s home and collect life certificates.
