Two Weeks More! Update Your Aadhaar For Free Within This Date

UIDAI has urged Aadhaar card holders to update Aadhaar details to make any correction in their Aadhaar details and is currently offering free of cost uploading of documents from March 15 to September 14. Earlier, the last date free online updation of Aadhaar was June 14, 2023. However, individuals uploading documents by physically visiting Aadhaar centres will be charged Rs 25 as usual.

According the UIDAI website, “Please update Aadhaar for continues accuracy of demographic Information. To update it, upload your proof of identity and proof of address documents.”

“Updated supporting documents for identity and address for Aadhaar enable ease of living, better service delivery and accurate authentication. Therefore, submitting recent identity and address documents is in the interest of the Aadhaar number holder,” read the website.

Who should update demographic details?“Changes in life events such as marriage may lead to residents changing their basic demographic details such as name and address. Address and mobile number could also change due to migration to newer locations. Residents may also want changes in their relative’s details due to changes in life events such marriage, death of a relative etc. In addition, residents could have other personal reasons to change their mobile number, email address etc,” said the website.

How to submit documents online? Step by Step GuideStep 1: Log on to https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.

Step 2: Log in using your Aadhaar number and One-time password received on registered mobile number.

Step 3: Check details for any discrepancies.

Step 4: If Correct, click on ‘I verify that the above details are correct’.

Step 5: For correction, select the identity document from the drop down menu that you wish to submit.

Step 6: Upload your identity document (size less than 2 MB; file format JPEG, PNG or PDF)

Step 7: Select the address document from the drop-down menu that you wish to submit.

Step 8: Upload Address Document

Step 9: Submit your consent.
